It’s all about rights restrictions, which means that the organisers of the Cannes Festival have tried to do a deal about who gets to show what. So much for press freedom. Still, it’s hard to feel much sympathy for these old media giants. They’ve been playing this kind of game over rights for years, and are fond of threatening bloggers with legal action. It’s the world you made: don’t be surprised if it blows up in your face.
