Big Media catches up with the bloggers

Via BoingBoing here a few links, to some of the outrageous and offensive lies being spread about Obama by McCain/Palin supporters.

The campaign is going negative. Further to today’s discussion about the reluctance of Big Media to acknowledge that this kind of thing is as widespread as it is, it seems that the pressure from bloggers has led to the New York Times, at least, to acknowledge it in an Op-Ed (opinion-editorial) piece yesterday.

On the other hand, it’s still not very evident from the NY Times’ front page, nor from the front page of the Politics section, nor from the Op-Ed section. Apart from a profile of the man who started the (false) rumours about Obama being a muslim, there’s not a lot there.

By the way, the New York Times has some fantastic campaign photography – see if you can spot which candidate looks most Presidential. In years to come, which set of photographs will be the most historic?
